Start with a free diagnostic

A starting point that makes sense

You don’t have to figure
it all out at once.

Some topics feel familiar. Others take another look. Your preparation should make room for both. Start by finding out where you are, then use your results to decide where to put your attention.

  1. 01

Get to know your starting point.

Set aside about 25 minutes for a short diagnostic covering math and reading. Your answers help us build an initial picture of your skills.

20 questions · No card needed
  2. 02

Find a direction for your study time.

Your results, test date, and target score help shape a personal roadmap. You’ll have a place to return to when it’s time to study.

A roadmap built around your goals
  3. 03

Turn weak spots into stronger skills.

Follow today’s focus or spend more time on a skill that feels difficult. Work through the explanation, revisit what you missed, and let your progress guide what comes next.

    Choose, practice, understand
Let’s find your starting point

There’s more than one way to understand

Make the connections.
Then make them your own.

Good practice gives you a chance to see how an idea works, try it yourself, and ask another question. Bring those moments together in one place.

A graph point and a phrase in a reading passage are highlighted on two paper study sheets.

Personalized to your next step

The practice you need.
The space to understand.

Vertex helps you spend more time on the skills that need it. Your diagnostic, goals, and recent answers shape a personal plan that adapts as you learn. Keep working through focused questions, explore the reasoning, and ask Mica when a step needs another explanation.

The Desmos course

Learn the graph.
Know when to use it.

Vertex’s in-house content team analyzed an archive of 1,900+ official SAT Math questions to build a course around recurring question patterns. Thirty lessons span equations, systems, functions, geometry, trigonometry, and data, with worked examples and guidance on when algebra is the better choice.

Meet your study companion

This is Mica.
Let’s figure it out together.

Mica is Vertex’s AI tutor: a patient place to bring the question you’re stuck on, the step you want explained, or the topic you’re ready to tackle next.

  • 01

    Start with a hint.

Get a nudge toward the next step, then keep the solving in your hands.

  • 02

    Make the reasoning clear.

Ask Mica to unpack a tricky explanation or show how an idea connects.

  • 03

Know what to work on next.

Mica can draw on your saved roadmap and practice patterns to point you toward a useful next step.

Meet Mica after your diagnostic

Mica is available from your study space. AI explanations can make mistakes, so compare them with the question’s answer explanation.

Keep the bigger picture in view

See what your practice
is teaching you.

A practice test is a chance to get used to the clock and notice how you approach different questions. Afterwards, look at your answers, revisit the difficult parts, and give your next study session a focus.

Before you begin

A few good
questions.

Wondering about something else?
We’re happy to help

What can I try for free?
Free access includes a diagnostic, one designated full-length practice test, limited Mica messages, and a personal day-by-day study roadmap. The diagnostic and free test are ready to take; the roadmap is view-only, and starting its lessons or practice questions requires a card-backed three-day trial or a paid plan. No card is needed for the free diagnostic or test.
How does custom SAT practice work?
Your diagnostic results, recent answers, and goals help Vertex focus your study plan on the skills that need more attention. Follow that focus or choose a skill, difficulty, and topic for a set of 1–20 questions. Learn from each explanation, return to missed questions, and keep building your understanding. Math and Reading and Writing practice are included with a card-backed trial or paid plan, within usage limits.
Who built the Desmos course?
Vertex’s in-house content team built the course from an analysis of an archive of 1,900+ official SAT Math questions. Thirty lessons turn recurring question patterns into practical Desmos methods across equations, systems, functions, geometry, trigonometry, and data. Worked examples and concept checks help you learn what to enter, how to interpret the result, and when algebra is the better choice.
How does the personalized AI tutor help?
The AI tutor helps you work through practice questions and ask follow-up questions about an explanation. You can use it when you're unsure how to begin or want to understand a step more clearly. Like any AI tool, it can make mistakes, so check its reasoning against the question and answer explanation.
What happens when the trial ends?
The trial lasts 72 hours. After that, your selected plan begins and your card is charged the billing total shown at checkout. We'll email you a reminder before your first payment. You can cancel in Settings before the trial ends to avoid a charge. If you don't see a Vertex email, check your spam or junk folder.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can cancel in Settings at any time. Your paid access continues until the end of your billing period, and your previous work stays in your account. For paid enrollments or purchases started on or after September 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM UTC, refunds are generally not offered. You may email a refund request to support@vertex-prep.com; we review each request case by case, and a refund is not guaranteed. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals; it does not by itself refund a payment already made. Your paid access normally continues through the period already paid for. If you began a trial, started a checkout session, or purchased before September 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM UTC, the terms presented at that enrollment or checkout remain in force for that subscription. Where those terms provided it, this includes a full refund of the first subscription payment requested within seven days of payment. Using Vertex during a trial or refund period did not affect eligibility. Consumer rights required by law still apply. See the refund policy.
Can I study on my phone?
Yes, you can use Vertex in your phone's browser. A laptop or tablet gives you more room for graphs and timed practice, so we recommend a larger screen for those sessions.
